By using MotoRev, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

2.1 Personal Information
- Account Information: Name, email address, username, password, profile picture
- Profile Information: Motorcycle details, riding experience, bio, location (city/state)
- Emergency Contacts: Names and phone numbers of your designated emergency contacts
- Payment Information: Processed securely through Apple Pay/Stripe (we do not store credit card details)
2.2 Ride Data
- Location Data: GPS coordinates, routes, speed, distance, elevation
- Ride Statistics: Duration, average speed, max speed, lean angle, acceleration patterns
- Weather Conditions: Temperature, precipitation, wind speed during rides
- Safety Scores: Calculated based on riding behavior and patterns
2.3 Device Information
- Device type, model, and operating system
- Unique device identifiers
- IP address
- App version and crash reports
- Sensor data (accelerometer, gyroscope) for crash detection

- Posts, comments, and likes
- Friend connections and group memberships
- Shared ride information
- Messages between users (end-to-end encrypted)
2.5 Advertising Data (Free Tier Users)
If you use the free tier of MotoRev, we collect and share data with advertising partners to display relevant ads:
- Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS), device model, operating system
- Usage Data: App activity, features used, session duration
- Motorcycle Data: Bike make, model, year, type (for targeted motorcycle ads)
- Riding Profile: Experience level, total miles, ride frequency, safety score tier
- Garage Information: Number of bikes, multi-bike owner status
- Account Metrics: Posts count, followers count, account age, rank tier
- Ad Interactions: Ad views (impressions), clicks, and engagement
- Location (General): City and state level (not precise GPS) for geo-targeted ads
Note: MotoRev Pro subscribers do not see ads and do not have advertising data collected or shared.

- Emergency Contacts: Location and crash alert information in emergency situations
- Advertising Partners (Free Tier): Google AdMob and other ad networks receive targeting data (bike info, riding profile, general location) to serve relevant ads
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate our platform (hosting, analytics, payment processing)
- Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect rights and safety
4.2 We do NOT:
- Sell your personal information to third parties for non-advertising purposes
- Share your precise GPS location with advertisers (only city/state level)
- Share advertising data if you are a Pro subscriber
- Use your data for purposes unrelated to the Service without permission

Downloads a JSON file with all your profile, bikes, rides, and posts
- Delete Your Account: Profile → Edit Account → Delete Account
Permanently deletes your account and all associated data

- We will respond within 30 days for GDPR/CCPA requests

7. Location Services
MotoRev requires location access for core functionality:
- While Using App: For ride tracking and navigation

You can control location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location services will limit app functionality.
8. Children's Privacy
MotoRev is not intended for users under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete such information.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
10. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:
- Active account data: Retained while account is active
- Ride history: Retained for 7 years (Pro users: unlimited)
- Deleted account data: Anonymized or deleted within 90 days

14. Advertising and Interest-Based Ads
14.1 How Advertising Works
MotoRev displays advertisements to free tier users through Google AdMob. These ads help us offer MotoRev for free while generating revenue to support development and operations.
14.2 Ad-Free Experience
MotoRev Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements. Upgrading to Pro ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) removes all ads and stops the collection and sharing of advertising data.
14.3 Types of Ads
We display native ads that match the look and feel of the app. Ads are clearly labeled as "Sponsored" and appear in your social feed approximately every 5 posts.
14.4 Interest-Based Advertising
We use interest-based advertising (also called personalized or targeted advertising). This means ads are tailored to your interests based on:
- Your motorcycle make, model, and type
- Your riding experience and activity level
- Number of bikes in your garage
- Your general location (city/state, not precise GPS)
- App usage patterns and engagement
This targeting helps show you ads for motorcycle gear, parts, events, and services that may actually interest you as a rider, rather than irrelevant generic ads.
14.5 Ad Revenue Model
We earn revenue through two methods:
- CPM (Cost Per Mille): We earn money when ads are displayed to you, even if you don't click
- CPC (Cost Per Click): We earn additional revenue when you click on ads
You are not required to click ads, and simply scrolling past them supports the app.
14.6 Data Shared with Advertisers
When ads are served, the following data is shared with Google AdMob and may be used by advertisers:
- Device type and operating system
- Advertising identifier (IDFA)
- IP address and general location (city/state)
- Motorcycle targeting data (make, model, year, type)
- Riding profile data (experience tier, mileage tier, safety tier)
- Account data (garage size, posts count tier, followers tier)
We do NOT share: Your name, email, phone number, precise GPS location, exact mileage/stats, or private messages.
14.7 Opting Out of Personalized Ads
You can limit personalized advertising:
- iOS Settings: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Turn off "Personalized Ads"
- Limit Ad Tracking: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable for MotoRev
- Upgrade to Pro: The best way to remove all ads is upgrading to MotoRev Pro
Note: Opting out means you'll still see ads, but they won't be personalized to your riding profile.
14.8 Ad Tracking and Analytics
We track ad performance to understand:
- How many users see each ad (impressions)
- How many users click ads (click-through rate)
- Which ad placements perform best
- Revenue generated from advertising
This data is used to optimize ad placement and improve user experience, not to identify individual users.
14.9 Third-Party Ad Networks
Google AdMob may work with additional third-party ad networks and demand partners to serve ads. These partners have their own privacy policies and data practices. Learn more:
